Rock Thrower

THE ROCK THROWER

The genuine Rock Thrower gathers juicy rocks to throw at unsuspecting people. He has mastered the art of throwing rocks—not easy, but he delights in gathering and throwing them.

First, he gathers the right rocks to throw—juicy tales, gossip, lies, secrets, personal business—all are good rocks to throw.  He knows a good rock!  He lies around people’s house “visiting”—gossiping, snooping, peeping, eves dropping—until he comes upon just the right rock.  Then he acquires it by slipping it into his pocket and easing it out of the house.

Next, he must “doctor up” the rock—chip, bend, twist, or reshape it so that it is just the right size and shape to throw.  Sometimes, he adds his own “innocent” lies into the shape of the rock.  When he finishes, it only slightly resembles the original.  He, then, stores it in his ever-enlarging rock bag which he carries around at all times so that he has just the right rock to throw when the right chance comes about.

Next, he must practice his art of exactly when, where, and how to throw rocks.  Just the right ears must be around when he throws the rock.  The rock is always intended to hurt, criticize, belittle, or otherwise injure the person at whom it is thrown without the person knowing who threw it.  Hence, the art of “hiding the hand” is essential.  He sometimes makes “mud rocks” out of dirt when he doesn’t have just the right rock, but they often splash back on him.  Rocks, too, sometimes bounce back and hit him square in the face.  But those are the unfortunate hazards of rock throwing.

He claims he only throws rocks at sinners and guilty people, but the temptation to throw is often too great to miss any opportunity.
