THE 101st ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY THEME:
"A Perfect Heart"(I Chronicles 28:9)
or,
"A Clean Heart and A Pure Heart; or A New Heart"
      Welcome to the Centennial Anniversary commemorating 100 years of Annual General Assemblies of The Church of the Living God, the Pillar and Ground of the Truth, Inc.    And it all started in Greenville, Alabama in 1908. To God be the glory!
      The General Assembly theme for this year is, "A Perfect Heart" and is actually taken from a number of references in the Bible referring to that phrase (e.g., "(I Chronicles 28:9;
12:38;
29:9;
29:19; II Chronicles 15:17; 16:9; 19:9; and 25:2, et al).   "Everybody dies of 'cardiac arrest!'" is a true statement.   Life or death is officially decided with reference to whether or not the heart has stopped.   Other organs or systems might grossly contribute to death, but ultimately the heart determines when life ceases.   No wonder, then, that the Scriptors' apodictic use of the heart as a determinant of quality of life is so prevalent.   David could honestly say to his son, "And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever" (I Chronicles 28:9).   The juxtaposition of "a perfect heart" and "a willing mind" provides the writer with the just-right platform for the conditional truism that follows, "If you seek Him, you will find Him."   It also leaves a timely lesson about character, basic nature, and behavior for us today.
Yours faithfully,
