The Church in the Greater West Palm Beach Area was actually started prior to 1930 during the lifetime of the founder, Mother M.L. Tate. It was around 1938, however, that Reverend Williard L. Williams (later to become Bishop) started the Church in a "tin roofed shack" in Riviera Beach. Bishop F.E. Lewis, son of the Founder, moved to West Palm Beach in 1952 and served as pastor of the Church. Bishop H.M. Lewis, served as pastor from 1953 to 1962. The Church was variously located in homes, in a mission on Tamarind Street, and finally, construction on the temple pictured above was begun in 1976. The temple was dedicated in March, 1977.
